Sam’s Place OKC — FAA Student Housing Check Availability

FAQs

Answers before you arrive.

From roommates and bathrooms to transportation, payment and move-in, here are the practical details students most often want clarified.

Booking & payment

When should I check availability after receiving my Academy dates?

As soon as you have your Academy dates, send us your class type, report date, and planned move-in and move-out dates. That gives us enough information to check whether a room fits your full stay.

If your dates later change, just let us know as soon as you know.

Does submitting the Check Availability form reserve my room?

No. Sending your dates starts the availability review.

We’ll check your stay against current room availability and, if there’s a fit, send you the next reservation step. The availability form itself does not hold a room.

When is my room actually held?

If we have a room that fits your stay, we’ll send you a Reservation Confirmation. Once that is completed and signed, Sam’s Place holds the room for the anticipated stay shown in the confirmation, subject to its terms.

Before arrival, you’ll also need to confirm your planned arrival date and approximate arrival time no later than 72 hours before check-in.

What do I sign for my stay?

The Reservation Confirmation comes first and records the anticipated stay and room hold.

The complete Room Rental Agreement and incorporated House Rules govern the actual occupancy once signed. The lease packet is normally completed before or at check-in.

How does the FAA lodging / payment process work?

For stays paid through the FAA CBA process, Sam’s Place bills authorized lodging through that process. Your personal card is not used for FAA-paid lodging.

Your FAA authorization controls the dates and lodging that are covered. If your stay is student-paid instead, the lodging terms and payment timing are confirmed in your reservation documents.

Will I have any out-of-pocket lodging cost?

If your lodging is authorized and paid through the FAA CBA process for your confirmed dates, Sam’s Place bills those authorized lodging charges through that process.

Anything outside your authorized lodging period, a student-paid stay, or permitted non-lodging charges remains your responsibility.

Is there a security deposit or card-on-file requirement?

Sam’s Place does not collect a cash security deposit, and we do not place a preauthorization hold just because your card is kept on file.

Residents are required to maintain a valid personal credit or debit card on file during the stay for permitted, documented non-lodging charges such as damage beyond normal wear, missing access devices, additional cleaning beyond ordinary turnover when actually required, or approved EV charging.

For an FAA CBA stay, that personal card is not used for FAA-paid lodging.

Living arrangement

Do I get my own bedroom?

Yes. Each resident has one private bedroom.

You share the furnished kitchen, living areas, laundry, bathrooms as applicable, and other common spaces with the other Academy students in the home.

How many students live in each home, and who will I live with?

Sam’s Place homes house up to three FAA Academy students, with one resident per private bedroom.

The shared-home model is built around Academy residents rather than general-market roommates.

Can I stay with classmates?

You can request to stay with classmates when you send your dates.

We’ll try to accommodate the request when stay dates and room availability line up, but classmate placement is not guaranteed until we confirm the arrangement.

How are the bathrooms set up?

Each standard Sam’s Place home has three bedrooms and two full bathrooms.

The master bedroom has the private bathroom. The other two bedrooms share the hallway bathroom. You can request the private-bathroom room, but the assignment depends on availability.

Do I need a car? Does Sam’s Place provide a shuttle?

Most residents should plan on having access to a vehicle for the Academy and everyday errands.

Sam’s Place does not provide an Academy shuttle. The Academy drive is generally short and practical, but transportation is the resident’s responsibility.

Is parking or garage parking available?

Residential parking is available. Your parking assignment may be garage or street parking and is confirmed with your room arrangements.

Garage parking is not guaranteed for every room. EV charging requires prior written approval and is not part of the standard included utilities.

What’s included

What is included with my stay?

Each stay includes a furnished private bedroom, dedicated study setup, shared furnished living spaces, a full kitchen, in-home laundry, internet, normal household utilities, and residential parking.

See the Housing page for the full Sam’s Place standard.

Are utilities and internet included?

Yes. Standard residential water, trash service, electricity, gas, fiber internet/Wi-Fi, and lawn care are included.

EV charging is not included in standard utilities and requires separate written approval.

What should I bring?

Bring your clothes, toiletries, medications, Academy materials, personal devices, groceries, and other personal consumables.

Your bedroom furnishings, bedding, study setup, and the home’s normal kitchen essentials are already provided, so you should not need to move an apartment’s worth of equipment to Oklahoma City.

Arrival & your stay

When do I receive the exact address and arrival details?

After your stay is confirmed and as your move-in approaches, we’ll send the exact residence and practical arrival instructions. Sam’s Place does not publicly post occupied-home addresses.

Please confirm your planned arrival date and approximate arrival time no later than 72 hours before check-in.

What are check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is between 12 PM and 9 PM. Check-out is before 11 AM.

If your travel plans create a problem with those times, contact Sam’s Place as early as possible so we can review the situation.

What happens if my Academy dates change?

Let us know as soon as you learn about a schedule, travel, graduation, failure, withdrawal, or other change that affects your stay.

We’ll review the updated dates and room availability. An extension or schedule change does not automatically guarantee the room beyond your currently confirmed stay.

What happens if my training ends early?

Tell us as soon as your training ends or your authorized lodging dates change.

If the FAA shortens your lodging period, your expected stay may be shortened accordingly. For FAA CBA stays, billing is updated to reflect the lodging period actually provided. Any student-paid billing is handled according to your signed agreement.

What happens when it’s time to move out?

Before check-out, remove your belongings and food, place trash in the proper bins, clear your personal items from the shared kitchen and bathroom areas, and leave your bedroom broom-clean with surfaces reasonably wiped and floors free of debris.

Return any keys, garage remotes, or other access devices you were issued, and let us know about any damage, leaks, pests, or maintenance issues. A final walkthrough may also be completed at departure.

Do not try to patch, paint, or repair damage yourself unless Sam’s Place has approved it in writing.

Who do I contact if I have a problem during my stay?

Contact Sam’s Place whenever you have a maintenance, access, or house issue. Please report maintenance problems promptly rather than attempting repairs yourself.

For a lockout or another urgent non-911 issue, call rather than relying only on text. For a life-safety emergency, call 911 first and then notify Sam’s Place.

Policies & special situations

Can I bring a pet?

Pets and visiting pets are not permitted in the shared Sam’s Place homes.

Requests involving service animals or other assistance animals are handled as required by applicable law.

Can my spouse, family member, or another person stay with me?

The standard Sam’s Place reservation is for one Academy resident per bedroom. Another person cannot move into your room or establish occupancy unless Sam’s Place has specifically approved and documented that arrangement.

Day guests are permitted under the House Rules. Overnight guests require prior written approval and are limited under the guest policy, so ask before making overnight plans.

What are the main house rules?

The shared-home rules are designed around respecting everyone’s study, sleep, privacy, and the property.

Residents are expected to keep shared spaces reasonably clean, respect roommate bedrooms and belongings, follow quiet-hour expectations, park only in approved areas, and report maintenance or safety issues promptly. Smoking and vaping are not allowed inside the home or garage, and pets are not permitted.

The complete House Rules included with your rental agreement govern the stay.
